Zero tolerance. Pace has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind, including grooming, sextortion, trafficking, and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any account engaged in or suspected of this behavior is immediately restricted and referred to the appropriate authorities.
1. Who can use Pace
Pace is intended for adults only and is not directed at children. Because Pace arranges in-person meetups between strangers, every account must be at least 18 years old. We confirm this with a date of birth collected during onboarding and, on supported devices, an OS-provided age range (Apple's Declared Age Range API or Google Play Age Signals), consistent with our Privacy Policy. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use the App, and we remove accounts we identify as belonging to underage users upon discovery.
2. Our prevention measures
- 18+ age gate at signup: before an account can use matching, the user must provide a date of birth that places them at 18 or older. On supported devices we also request an OS age-range signal; an explicit under-18 result blocks the account. Accounts we identify as underage are removed.
- Device binding: we associate accounts with a device identifier so a banned user cannot immediately return on the same hardware.
- In-app reporting: every profile, walk session, and post-walk review screen includes a "Report" action with a dedicated "Child safety concern" category, alongside harassment, spam, and general safety reports.
- Immediate restriction: unlike ordinary abuse reports, a single child-safety report immediately restricts the reported account pending human review — it does not wait for multiple reporters.
- Blocking: reporting a user automatically blocks further contact between the two accounts while our team investigates.
- Human review: our safety team reviews every child-safety report and takes action, including permanent account removal, independent of any automated decision.
3. Reporting a concern
If you encounter content or behavior on Pace that concerns you, you can report it two ways:
- In the App: tap "Report" on the profile, walk session, or post-walk screen involved, and select "Child safety concern" as the reason.
- By email: contact our safety team directly at safety@pacesocial.net. Please include as much detail as you can (usernames, screenshots, dates) so we can investigate quickly.
We review every report and, where content or activity may constitute CSAM or CSAE, we act promptly to remove it and restrict the account while investigating.
4. Reporting to authorities
Pace complies with applicable child safety laws. Where we identify apparent CSAM or CSAE, we report it to the relevant authority, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline in the United States, and to local or national law enforcement where appropriate, and we cooperate with lawful requests from those authorities.
5. Point of contact
Our designated point of contact for questions about Pace's CSAE prevention practices and compliance is reachable at safety@pacesocial.net.
6. Changes to these standards
We may update these standards as our policies and tools evolve. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when we do.
